IIUCP President Assoc. Dr. Fuad explained that there were two types of competitions, namely scientific and semi-scientific. Scientific competitions included Psy-Paper, Psy-Proposal, Psy-Intervention, Psy-Infographic, Psy-Design and Psy-Quiz. Meanwhile, semi-scientific competitions included Psy-Essay, Psy-Movie, Psy-Vlog, Psy-Photography, Psy-Preach, Psy-Recitation (Qira’ah) and Psy-Poem. Psy-Poem (semi-scientific) and Psy-Quiz (scientific) were two new competitions introduced in this year’s event.

Dr. Fuad further explained that some of the competitions were themed on Islamic psychology and contemporary psychology, while the others were purely Islamic psychology. The entire competition was held online and was attended by active students from 20 IIUCP Forum member universities. “Specifically, the final round for the Psy-Poem and Psy Quiz competitions were held offline at the 2023 KIMPSI host university,” he explained.

The UII delegation went to Palembang accompanied by the 2023 UII KIMPSI Support Team and the Dean of FPSB UII, Dr. Phil. Qurotul Uyun, S.Psi., M.Si. The dean congratulated and prayed for the students for this achievement.

“I would like to express my gratitude and congratulations to the Psychology Study Program delegation for the achievements at KIMPSI. I also thank the supervisors who have worked hard to direct and prepare the students for this event,” she said.

Alhamdulillah [Thank God], the Psychology Study Program of FPSB UII won the overall champion. I hope this achievement will motivate students and lecturers to continue working together to innovate,” she said. “I also hope we remain at the forefront in next year’s KIMPSI. May Allah grant blessings to all of us. Amen.”

Similarly, Head of Psychology Study Program – Undergraduate Program, Hazhira Qudsyi, S.Psi., M.A., expressed her gratitude to the students, the team of supervisors, and the entire KIMPSI Support Team for their hard and smart work to become overall champion in this competition. She hoped that this achievement could motivate students to further increase their potential and achievements in the future.

“UII’s Psychology Study Program is committed to facilitating the development and coaching of students’ talents and interests through various forms of activities. We expect this effort can help students maximize their potential to achieve in academic and non-academic fields,” Hazhira Qudsyi said.

As a form of this commitment, the UII Psychology Study Program has made efforts to prepare UII’s KIMPSI participation by deploying the KIMPSI Mentoring Team led by Dr. Nita Trimulyaningsih, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog. The activities the team did were scouting students, appointment for competent lecturers for the different competition categories, student selection process, and coaching.

The KIMPSI Mentoring Team said that evaluation showed that inter- and intra-university competitions were tighter. This was evident from the number of registrants that continue to increase every year, both from within UII and for the competition itself.

“We hope that by setting up a good system for preparing students, providing them with optimal guidance, and a strict selection process, we can maintain and improve our achievements in the following years,” said Dr. Nita.
