Medical Professional

In order to work as medical professionals, graduates of the FK UII Medical Professional Study Program must first complete the Indonesian Medical Internship Program (PIDI). This program is implemented for 1 (one) year, comprises 8 months of internship in a Hospital and 4 months in a public health center, in order to gain proficience and to align their knowledge to real practices in the field. After completing the internship program, PIDI participants will receive a Registration Letter (STR) from the Indonesian Medical Council. This letter is one of the requirements for obtaining the License to Practice (SIP) for a physician to practice medicine.

Physicians who graduate from the FK UII Medical Professional Study Program have career opportunities as clinicians who may practice medicine privately or in public or private health agencies such as hospitals, public health centers, and clinics. Apart from that, they can also pursue careers in the managerial part of these health agencies. Graduates of the FK UII Medical Professional Study Program may also work as educators (lecturers), or become researchers at public and private research institutions. Physicians who graduate from FK UII may also continue their studies both by pursuing Master Degree (S2) in the Master’s Study Program, or by continuing their studies at the Medical Specialist Education Program (Sp-1).
